...two things:
1- It feels from the pics very SLK like. As if a larger, better, more powerful car got smushed down a bit with no thought to proportions.
2- Speaking of MB, the portion pictured above feels very E/S Coupe-esque.
I am, however, reserving final judgement until I see it in person. Enjoy your Friday, Oppo.

The back doesn’t nearly bother me as much as the front. But they did a great job on the interior.

It doesn’t bother me, per se, just when I saw it I immediately thought of the larger MB Coupes. The front actually bothers me more as well. Also agree that the interior looks to be great.

My first thought was that it’s a SLK with a kidney grill.

We’ve only seen pictures so far. Here’s what I assume is the first video of it

I like all of it from the pics. I just want it in blue or green.

Hoping the non-Msport bumpers will get rid of the Camry Dents.

The SLK always looked like it took the styling cues from the larger SL sand applied them to a smaller car whose proportions didn’t quite work. This new Z4 is compact, but the styling feels more suited to the proportions.

Agreed. It’s always looked very off to me. The Z4 doesn’t look as off to me but there is something about it that strikes me as a bit unpleasing, aesthetically. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but I know the front doesn’t really do it for me.

Chances are high, I’d say.

I fully
support this.

Okay, see, I think it is much better looking in the video than in the photos I quickly glanced at. Still reserving final decision until I see them in the wild. Also, the video makes it feel even more MB than the pics, to me.

Which is precisely what I thought from quickly glancing at the pictures. After watching the video though, it’s much better than the pictures. Still feels a bit SLK-ish to me - in fact, the video makes it feel even more MB to me than the pics
. Guess we’ll see when they come out into the world.

The whole car seems derivative to me, and brings nothing new to the table.
Curious to see it in person, but with no manual I’d never buy one .

Why is it trying to eat the license plate?

I’d like to see one in person properly. I found a prototype last weekend, but it’s hard to make a solid judgement based on a camo -wrapped car under a tarp:

That’s how I feel. Once I see one in person I will know for sure.

Because, why not?

Probably right about that, but I guess they needed to get back into the smaller-ish roadster segment*. So this is as good an entry as any, I suppose.
*For people who don’t appreciate the
2 series.

Audi, Mercedes and BMW are all starting to converge in design IMO. They don't look bad but they are a bit predictable

I think the Z is fine, but it just doesn’t excite me at all. I’ll take a 181 hp ND Miata with a 7,500 rpm redline, thankyouverymuch.

I can see that.
I think BMW and MB are becoming
closer to each other with Audi not being far off.

Well yeah, you would, most here would - but there are a lot of people who would prefer the BMW for...
one reason or another
...

Of course people will buy it because “ reasons”.
